The Civil Law Department of the Faculty of Law, Universitas Trisakti, hosted a webinar titled “Developments and Challenges in Family Law in Indonesia” on Thursday, December 5, 2024, from 9:00 AM WIB until the event concluded. This webinar was part of a series of activities commemorating Universitas Trisakti’s 59th Anniversary.
The webinar was officially opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Dr. Dra. Siti Nurbaiti, SH., M.Hum., represented by the Head of the Civil Law Department, Dr. Indra Krestianto, SH., MH. Following the opening remarks, the speakers and the moderator were presented with certificates as a token of appreciation from Universitas Trisakti for their valuable contributions of knowledge and insights.
The first presentation was delivered by Prof. Dr. Sonny Dewi Judiasih, SH., MH., CN., a Family Law Professor at Padjajaran University, who discussed “Developments and Challenges in Family Law in Indonesia.” The second speaker, Dr. Drs. Panusunan Harahap, SH., MH., Chairman of the Medan High Court, also elaborated on the same topic. The third presentation was by Dr. Rr. Aline Gratika Nugrhani, SH., MH., an academic from the Faculty of Law at Universitas Trisakti, who explored “The Influence of TikTok on the Rise of Same-Sex Marriages.”
The webinar was moderated by Dr. Khairani Bakri, SH., MH., a faculty member of Universitas Trisakti’s Faculty of Law, who skillfully facilitated the discussions and maintained the event’s momentum. The session saw an abundance of enthusiastic questions from participants, many of which remained unanswered due to time constraints. The event was hosted by Nadhirah Baisa, a student of the Faculty of Law, who successfully managed the proceedings and concluded the webinar.
Open to the public, the webinar was attended by students, lecturers, academics, and civil law practitioners from within and beyond Universitas Trisakti.
We hope this webinar has enriched the knowledge of academics, researchers, and practitioners in the field of family law, providing them with deeper insights into its developments and challenges in Indonesia. Furthermore, it aims to equip them to address current legal challenges in this dynamic area.
