On Thursday, February 20, 2025, the Faculty of Law Universitas Trisakti (FH Usakti) held a Guest Lecture featuring Prof. Gabrielle Goodwin, who presented on the topic “United States Legal System.” The event took place at the Prof. E. Suherman Auditorium, Building H, and was attended by faculty members and students from the Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral programs in Law at FH Usakti.

Before the lecture, a Letter of Intention was signed between FH Usakti, represented by the Dean of FH Usakti, Prof. Dr. Dra. Siti Nurbaiti, S.H., M.Hum., and the Maurer School of Law, Indiana University, represented by Prof. Gabrielle Goodwin. The agreement aims to foster future collaboration in various fields between the institutions.

Prof. Gabrielle Goodwin’s presentation introduced the U.S. legal system, and the comparison between Indonesia’s civil law system and the U.S. common law system made the discussion particularly engaging. A Q&A session, moderated by Abdurrachman Satrio, S.H., LL.M, was highly interactive and allowed participants to delve deeper into the differences between the two legal systems.

The event concluded with the presentation of a certificate of appreciation to the speaker and a token of gratitude, followed by a group photo session. It is hoped that this guest lecture and the signing of the Letter of Intent will broaden the scope of international cooperation for FH Usakti in pursuit of its vision to become a law faculty with international standards.
