Jakarta, October 24 – The Alumni Association of Trisakti Faculty of Law (IKA FH Trisakti) in collaboration with the Faculty of Law successfully held the “One-Day Workshop on Scientific Writing.” The event was opened by Sahala Siahaan, S.H., the Chairman of IKA FH USAKTI, and Dr. Hj. Tri Sulistyowati, S.H., M.Hum., the Vice Dean IV of Trisakti Faculty of Law. Attended by 21 participants, including students, undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral alumni, the event was part of the Alumni Networking and Professional Development Program, according to Ida Haerani, S.H., M.H., M.Kn., the head of the program. The aim of the workshop was to enhance the quality of legal academic writing and motivate participants to produce journal articles that meet high academic standards.

The event was a success, with high enthusiasm from participants who actively engaged with the mentors. Two expert mentors, Prof. Dr. Irwahsyah, S.H., M.H., and Prof. Dr. Elfrida Gultom, S.H., M.Hum., M.Kn., shared their extensive knowledge and experience on scientific writing techniques, the importance of precise legal language, and how to construct strong and logical arguments in academic journal writing.

In the opening session, Prof. Irwahsyah emphasized that scientific writing is a crucial skill, especially for law students and professionals. “Scientific writing is not just about conveying ideas but structuring thoughts in a systematic and scholarly manner,” he remarked. Meanwhile, Prof. Elfrida Gultom stressed the importance of valid research, a concise and appealing title, and effectively communicating research findings in academic writing.

The event also included a hands-on workshop session, where participants eagerly developed their research ideas and learned how to craft substantial academic papers under the mentors’ guidance.

Overall, the event received high praise from the participants, who expressed hope for similar activities in the future. “This workshop is very beneficial, especially for those of us new to academic writing and currently pursuing a PhD. We hope for more in-depth sessions in the future,” said one participant.

The event concluded with motivational words from Dr. Fery Wirsamulia, S.H., M.H., a member of the IKA FH USAKTI supervisory board and one of the organizers. He encouraged participants to continue honing their academic writing skills and contribute to the advancement of legal scholarship in Indonesia. The participants’ works will be curated and published in the Trisakti Law Journal.
