Raisya Saadiya Nareswari (Student ID: 010002400312), a 2024 Faculty of Law student, has been selected to represent Indonesia as a model at the Tokyo Muslim Fashion Festival (TMFF) 2024. The event, organized by Kolam Ikan Creative Communication and e-Agency, with full support from the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Japan, took place on September 7, 2024, at Shibuya Scramble, Tokyo, Japan.

TMFF 2024 showcased Muslim fashion designs by six talented Indonesian designers who have successfully incorporated the rich cultural heritage of Indonesia, from Aceh to Papua, into their works. Their designs reflect the philosophy of Bhinneka Tunggal Ika (Unity in Diversity). This event serves as a platform for designers to exhibit collections that blend Indonesia’s cultural wealth with moderate Islamic values, with hopes of attracting the attention of the Japanese fashion industry and introducing the uniqueness of Indonesian modest fashion to the global market.

As Muslim presence and Islam gain wider acceptance in Japan, this presents a great opportunity to introduce the creations of Indonesian modest fashion designers.

Raisya’s involvement is expected to inspire other students to promote and develop Indonesian cultural values on the international stage.
