MASTER OF LAW PROGRAM FH USAKTI HOLDS STUDIUM GENERALE ON LEGAL REFORM IN INDIA

On Thursday, June 20, 2024, a Studium Generale (Public Lecture) was held in the Prof. E. Suherman Auditorium on the 2nd floor of Building H, Universitas Trisakti, with the theme “Legal Reform in India: Legal and Cultural Perspectives.” As a campus known for its focus on comparative law, this theme was chosen to understand the current legal developments in India and to compare them with legal developments in Indonesia. The speaker for this event was Prof. Dr. Gautam Kumar Jha from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, India, and it was moderated by Dr. Natasya Yunita Sugiastuti, S.H., M.H., a permanent lecturer in the Master of Law program at FH Usakti. Most of the participants in the public lecture were from the postgraduate program at FH Usakti and the general public.

The public lecture began with a presentation on “Recent Legal Reforms in India” delivered by Prof. Gautam Kumar Jha, followed by a Q&A session with the participants. Prof. Gautam Kumar Jha also mentioned that he is open to collaboration with participants in conducting research and writing articles related to legal and cultural developments in India. He hopes that the material presented can inspire ideas for participants interested in the study of comparative law.

It is hoped that this public lecture will be beneficial for participants, particularly in broadening their knowledge of current legal developments in India, and that it can serve as a reference in comparative legal studies with the developments in Indonesia.
