LAW FACULTY OF UNIVERSITAS TRISAKTI ORGANIZES INTERNATIONAL SEMINAR AND COMMUNITY SERVICE PROGRAM (PkM) IN JAPAN

On Saturday, March 2, 2024, at Shinjuku, Japan, the Law Faculty of Universitas Trisakti conducted an international seminar and Community Service Program (PkM), held in collaboration with the Japan-Indonesia Lawyer Association and Wako University.

The international seminar and PkM activities organized by the Law Faculty of Universitas Trisakti addressed several topics, including:

  1. Investment Legal System that Promotes Ease of Doing Business in Indonesia
  2. Provision of Land for Investment Activities
  3. Mixed Marriages in Indonesia: Some Legal Issues in Private International Law
  4. Minorities Rights Issues in Culture & Education: Identifying and Discussing Specific Human Rights Issues in Indonesia and Japan
  5. Legal Consultation on Immigration Law in Indonesia
  6. Legal Consultation on Citizen Law in Indonesia
  7. Legal Consultation on Binding Sale and Purchase Agreements and the Formulation of Authentic Deeds of Land and Buildings
  8. Legal Consultation on Marriage Agreement
  9. Mixed-Marriage Law based on Indonesian Law
  10. Indonesian Inheritary Legal Pluralism
  11. Employment Law Consultation to the Indonesian Diaspora in Tokyo, Japan
  12. Legal Protection for Indonesian Migrant Workers in Japan.
  13. Legal Consultation on Restorative Justice in Indonesian Criminal Law
  14. Legal Consultation on Personal Data Protection

The international seminar and PkM activities commenced with an opening speech by the Dean of Universitas Trisakti Law Faculty, Dr. Dra. Siti Nurbaiti, S.H., M.Hum., followed by presentations from representatives of JILA, Prof. Yamasitha, Prof. Husano, and Prof. Kimura. The presentations from Universitas Trisakti Law Faculty were delivered by Dr. Anna Maria Tri Anggraini, SH,MH and Dian Purnamasari, SH,MH,PhD, moderated by Dr. Arlina Permanasari, SH,MH. Constructive discussions took place during this international seminar.

The event was attended by 68 lecturers from Universitas Trisakti Law Faculty and participants from Japan, including Japanese legal practitioners, diaspora, Indonesian migrant workers in Japan, and the Indonesian Student Association (PPI) in Japan. There were numerous exchanges between the participants and lecturers from Trisakti Law Faculty to discuss issues faced by the Indonesian community in Japan and proposals for resolving these issues.

In the second session, the Dean of Faculty Economics and Business, Wako University, Tokyo, Prof. Bambang Rudianto, presented on opportunities for collaboration with universities in Japan and the challenges of studying at Japanese universities. The last session featured presentations from the Chairperson of the Indonesian Migrant House (RUMI), Anastasya Wulandari, and representatives from the Indonesian Student Association in Japan. The presentations highlighted the issues faced by Indonesian citizens, especially migrant workers and students studying in Japan. Therefore, the Community Service Program, which offered various legal consultation themes, was deemed beneficial for the Indonesian community in Japan attending the event.

It is hoped that the international seminar and community service program will benefit the Indonesian community, particularly those currently residing in Japan, and inspire the academic community of Trisakti Law Faculty to continue implementing the Tri Dharma of Higher Education to further benefit the Indonesian society wherever they are.
